Ich habe das Altern nie als etwas Politisches betrachtet. Aber letzte Woche hörte ich Ezra Kleins Interview mit Sarah McBride, der Kongressabgeordneten aus Delaware und dem ersten offen transsexuellen Mitglied des Kongresses.
Eine ganz besondere Vorführung in Brandenburg
Am 31. Mai haben wir eine ganz besondere Vorführung von "Grains of Sand" auf dem wunderschönen Bauernhof "Blaues Pferd" in der Nähe von Zehdenick, Deutschland, abgehalten, wo sich Barbara und Margot jedes Jahr im Film treffen. Es war ein magischer Abend!
Wer interessiert sich schon für einen persönlichen Film über zwei alternde Frauen?
Während der acht Jahre, in denen ich den Film drehte, wurde ich bei Film-Networking-Veranstaltungen immer wieder nach meinem "aktuellen Projekt" gefragt. Bei diesen Gelegenheiten erfuhr ich, dass ich einen "Film für ältere Frauen" drehte - wenn ich das Projekt beschrieb, reagierten Frauen über 50 im Allgemeinen mit Interesse und Begeisterung.
Weltpremiere Thessaloniki
Als Grains of Sand im März dieses Jahres auf dem Thessaloniki Documentary Festival in Griechenland seine Weltpremiere feierte, saß ich im Publikum und war nervös, was die Leute, die den Film zum ersten Mal sahen, wohl empfinden würden (oder auch nicht).
